How x402 payments work
Call any endpoint without credentials. If unpaid, the server returns HTTP 402 with machine-readable payment details. An x402-aware client pays a fraction of a cent in USDC on Base and retries automatically — the full round-trip adds ~200 ms.
Currently on Base Sepolia testnet. Free test USDC available from faucet.circle.com. Mainnet support coming once pricing is finalized.
